Booking and delivery
Can you deliver a porta potty today?
Same-day delivery is available when you call by 12 noon for towns within about 40 miles of Salem, NH, or by 10 AM for towns 40–80 miles away. It depends on that day's routes, and a rush fee may apply. The fee shows on your quote before you book. If today is full, we book the first slot the next morning.
How far ahead should I book?
Book 1 to 2 business days ahead for jobsites and small parties. Book 2 to 4 weeks ahead for graduation weekends, July 4th and Labor Day. Book restroom trailers and large wedding orders 2 to 4 months ahead. June and September Saturdays fill first.
Can you drop off Saturday and pick up Sunday?
Weekend drops and pickups are limited because our trucks run weekday routes. The standard plan for weekend events is a Friday drop and a Monday pickup at no extra charge, so you have the unit all weekend. Call to ask about a Saturday slot.
Are you local, or a call center that sends my order to someone else?
Grant Rental Works runs its own trucks out of Salem, NH. The person who answers can check the route board, give you a delivery window and quote the total on the same call. We do not pass your order to a broker.
Do I need to be there for delivery?
You do not need to be there. Tell us where the unit goes, any gate code, and a cell number for the driver. Mark the spot with a cone or chalk. The driver can text a photo after drop-off.
Will the driver call before arriving?
The driver calls or texts the on-site contact when on the way. Give us the best number for that person, especially for locked gates, gated communities and busy jobsites.
What information do you need to book?
We need the delivery address and ZIP, the dates, the type and number of units, the crowd or crew size, a placement spot, gate codes or hazards such as low wires, an on-site contact, and a card or account for billing. The call takes about 5 minutes.
Pricing and billing
How much does a porta potty cost to rent?
A standard porta potty runs about $175–$250 per 28 days with weekly cleaning near Salem, NH. Delivery and pickup add about $50–$100 one time. Weekend party units run about $225–$325 all-in. See the full pricing guide for flushing, accessible and trailer rates.
Is there a price difference between event and construction units?
Event units are delivered freshly cleaned and inspected for a short rental, usually Friday to Monday, and are priced as a weekend package. Construction units are priced per 28-day cycle with weekly service. A flushing unit with a sink costs more than either standard option.
I only need it for 3 days. Why does it cost the same as a full cycle?
Most of a short rental's cost is the truck trip, the cleaning and the turnaround, not the days. That is why jobsite rentals are priced per 28-day cycle. For a weekend event, ask for the Friday-to-Monday event rate instead.
Do you add a fuel surcharge, card fee or removal fee?
Our quotes have no fuel surcharge, no card fee and no separate removal fee at the end. Delivery and pickup are listed as one line. The total on your quote is what you pay unless you add services later.
Do holiday weekends cost more?
Holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day can cost more because demand is high and routes are full. Book early to lock the rate. Your quote shows the holiday rate before you book.
Do you charge sales tax?
New Hampshire rentals have no sales tax. Massachusetts rentals add 6.25% state sales tax and Maine rentals add 5.5%. The tax shows as its own line on the quote.
Do you need a credit card, or can you bill our company?
Homeowners and one-time renters pay by card when booking. Contractors and companies with repeat orders can apply for an account with a monthly invoice. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted.
Is there a deposit?
Most rentals need only a card on file. Restroom trailers and large event orders may need a deposit to hold the date. The deposit amount is on your quote.
Do you give discounts?
Multi-unit orders on one truck save on delivery, since several units share one fee. Contractors with ongoing work can get account pricing. Next-day delivery instead of same-day avoids the rush fee.
If I extend the rental, does the rate go up?
Extending a rental keeps the same rate per 28-day cycle. No new delivery fee is added, because the unit is already on site. Call or text before the cycle ends to extend.
Cleaning and service
How often is the porta potty cleaned?
Rented units are cleaned once a week on 28-day rentals. Each visit pumps the tank, adds fresh deodorizer, sanitizes the seat, urinal, floor and handles, and restocks toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Event units arrive freshly cleaned.
Can I get it cleaned every day during my event?
Daily cleaning is available for multi-day events, festivals and busy sites. Each extra visit is listed on the quote. A 4-day event with heavy use usually needs a service before each day opens.
Will the porta potty smell?
A serviced porta potty has a mild deodorizer scent. Odor builds when the tank gets full or the unit sits in hot sun. Weekly service, shade, and the right number of units for your crowd keep odor low.
Do you restock toilet paper between services?
Each service visit restocks toilet paper and sanitizer. Busy jobsites can ask us to leave spare rolls. If you run out early, call and we add a service visit.
How many uses does one porta potty handle?
A standard unit's 60-gallon tank handles about 200 uses before pumping. That is about one week for a 10-person crew, or one 4-hour party of 50 guests.
Do you pump RV tanks or septic systems?
We pump and service only the portable restrooms we rent. For RV tanks or home septic pumping, call a licensed septic hauler.
Units and features
Does the standard porta potty have hand sanitizer or a sink?
A standard porta potty has a hand sanitizer dispenser inside. For a sink with soap and water, choose a flushing unit with a sink inside, or add a separate two-sink hand-wash station.
Do you have porta potties with a sink inside?
Flushing units come with a foot-pump sink, soap and paper towels inside. They suit weddings and long parties. For bigger groups, a separate hand-wash station serves more people at once.
Do you have flushable porta potties?
Flushing porta potties use a foot pump to rinse the bowl with clean blue water. They cost more than a standard unit and fit the same space. See flushing unit details.
Do you have handicap porta potties?
Wheelchair-accessible units have a ground-level floor, a wide door, grab bars and room to turn a wheelchair. Public events should make at least 5% of units in each cluster accessible, minimum 1. See accessible units.
Does the porta potty come with a lock?
Every unit has an inside latch. The door has a hasp for your own padlock, which helps on public lots and open jobsites. Leave a key or code for the service tech, or leave it unlocked on service day.
Do you rent restroom trailers?
Two-stall restroom trailers with flush toilets, sinks and lights are available for weddings, VIP areas and emergencies. They need level ground and a power hookup. See restroom trailer rental.
How many restroom trailers does an emergency shelter need?
A shelter needs about 1 toilet per 20 residents under common emergency planning guidance, plus hand-wash stations. A 2-stall trailer counts as 2 toilets. For 100 residents, plan 5 toilets, such as 2 trailers and 1 accessible unit, with daily service.
Do you rent dumpsters or fencing?
We focus on portable restrooms: porta potties, flushing units, accessible units, hand-wash stations and restroom trailers.
Placement and site access
Where should I put the porta potty?
Put the porta potty on flat, firm ground within about 25 feet of where our service truck can park. Keep it away from doors, wells, septic fields and plow piles. Leave a 10-foot path for the truck. Use our placement checklist.
Can it go in my backyard?
A unit can go in a backyard if there is a gate at least 4 feet wide for a standard unit, or 6 feet for an accessible unit, and firm ground the whole way. The service truck must park close enough to reach it with a hose.
Does it cost more to place it in a parking lot or on grass?
Placement does not change the price as long as our truck can reach the unit. A unit set far from the truck path, or moved later, may need a move fee. Ask on the call.
What should I tell you about gates and hazards?
Tell us gate codes, low-hanging wires or branches, parked cars, soft ground, steep driveways and dogs. Drivers check for these before backing in. Clear details avoid a missed delivery.
Can I move the porta potty myself?
Moving a unit yourself risks spills and tipping. Call us and we move it on the next route. A move fee may apply if it is not on a service day.
Do I need a permit to put a porta potty on the street?
A unit on a public street or sidewalk usually needs a permit from your town's public works department. Boston, for example, issues street occupancy permits. Units on private property usually need no permit. Check with your town first.
Changes, cancellations and pickup
How do I end the rental?
Call or text (603) 956-9127 with the address and the day you want pickup. Billing stops on the pickup date. Leave the path to the unit clear on that day.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Orders can be changed or canceled for free up to 2 business days before delivery. Adding a sink, a second unit or another day is easy if you call before the truck loads. Late cancellations may carry a trip fee. See the rental terms.
What if the unit is damaged or tipped?
Call us right away. We clean it up and stand the unit back up. Normal wear is on us. Damage from vandalism, fire, vehicles or tipping during site work may be charged at repair cost.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for our jobsite?
A certificate of insurance can be sent to the general contractor or property manager on request. Send us the certificate holder's details when you book.
