How many porta potties do I need for a party?
A party of 50 guests or fewer needs 1 standard porta potty for up to 4 hours. Add 1 unit for every 50 more guests. Add 1 unit per 200 guests if the party runs past 4 hours, and another if alcohol is served. A 100-guest, 6-hour graduation party with beer needs 4 units.
| Guests | Up to 4 hrs | 5–8 hrs | 5–8 hrs + alcohol |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 100 | 2 | 3 | 4 |

Why do weekend party units come on Friday?
Weekend party units come on Friday because our trucks run weekday routes. We drop the unit Friday and pick it up Monday at no extra cost. You get the unit for the whole weekend. Tell us the event start time so the drop happens before tents, tables and parked cars block the spot.
Do event porta potties need hand-wash stations?
Event porta potties should have a hand-wash station any time food is served. Plan 1 two-sink station for every 4 toilets at a food event, or 1 for every 6 toilets without food. Kids' parties and petting zoos need sinks with soap, because hand sanitizer does not clean dirt off small hands.
Do public events need accessible porta potties?
Public events need at least 5% of the porta potties in each cluster to be wheelchair-accessible, with a minimum of 1, under 2010 ADA Standards section 213.2. Twenty units in one bank means 1 accessible unit. Two banks of 10 means 1 accessible unit in each bank. Your town or venue may ask for more.
Where should event porta potties go?
Event porta potties should sit on flat ground, at least 30 feet from food tables and downwind if possible. Keep them close enough that guests do not walk through the dark. Leave a path for our truck to reach them for setup and pickup. Lighting helps for evening parties.

Questions about event rentals
Can I rent just one porta potty for a birthday party?
Single-unit party rentals are our most common event order. One standard unit covers up to 50 guests for 4 hours. Add a hand-wash station if you are serving food, or choose a flushing unit with a sink inside.
Can the porta potty be delivered Saturday morning?
Saturday drops are limited because routes run on weekdays. The standard plan is a Friday drop and a Monday pickup at no extra charge. Call to ask about a Saturday slot if your yard is not open Friday.
Do you need an event permit for porta potties?
Private parties at home usually need no permit. Events in parks, on streets or open to the public may need a permit from the town, and the permit may set a toilet count. Check with your town clerk or parks department.
Are the event units the same as jobsite units?
Event units are cleaned, sanitized and inspected before every drop. Many hosts upgrade to a flushing unit with a sink for a nicer guest experience. For weddings, see our wedding restroom options.
What if it rains on my event?
The units are built for weather. Pick a spot that will not puddle and keep the path firm. Rain does not change the delivery or price.
